For those uninitiated in the character, he’s essentially The Predator, an Apex hunter blessed with super strength who has chosen New York as his next hunting ground. It’s a great starting point that sends the city’s hero and villain dynamic into flux as he sets his sights on the biggest prey possible.
Overall, the game is a phenomenal experience, and its 32 missions are all rich and full of content. At the end of the game’s second act, Peter saves Miles from Kraven before the two Spider-Men face off, as Miles tries to get Peter to give up the Symbiote. Miles defeats Peter and captures the Symbiote before the two of them bring the alien suit back to the destroyed rubble of the April May foundation. This fight concludes the game’s second act and sets up a tense final act, as Peter and Harry are set to face off as enemies. Despite the disappointment, it’s unlikely that any DLC for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 would’ve been very exciting. Over time, the Venom symbiote created its own offspring, which bonded with a serial killer named Cletus Kasady to form the new villain Carnage. Sensing a greater threat than his grudge with Spider-Man, Venom reluctantly agreed to work with Peter to stop their mutual enemies and the two have maintained an uneasy truce, occasionally dipping back into their old conflicting ways. Since then, Venom has become something of a lethal protector rather than an all-out villain, protecting the innocent, albeit with more excessive force than his old webslinging rival. The number of gadgets has been reduced to five, one of which is web shooting. The increased dynamics of battles left no time to think about what to throw at enemies. Gadgets can be upgraded with special parts obtained in the city or by completing quests.
